WVU Sophomore Andrew Sheldon designed the green team logo in 2009. His design was selected from proposals from about 25 students in WVU symbol design classes taught by professors Eve Faulkes and Chris Barr. The graphic design program likes to incorporate a client into the classes to give students an experience in seeing how principles apply to real situations. Working with a green theme was especially gratifying for the students as they felt they were contributing back to the community. All of the proposals showed research into the appropriate nature for the symbol and proved their symbols with applications like banner designs, business cards and t-shirts that would show them in different sizes, colors and contexts. | |
